Althea Pettigrew
Hello, Beautiful Hearts. My name is Althea Pettigrew, and I am a Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and holistic care to individuals, couples, and families. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported as they navigate healing, growth, and life’s challenges.
My clinical work focuses on trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, addiction, and life transitions. I have experience supporting clients with PTSD, complex trauma, self-harm, and substance-related concerns using evidence-based and somatic-informed approaches that honor the mind-body connection.
As a certified sex educator and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, I provide affirming and inclusive care for clients exploring identity, intimacy, relationships, and sexual health. My therapeutic style is integrative and personalized, drawing from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, somatic, existential, and strengths-based approaches. I work with adults, adolescents, children ages 10 and up, couples, and families. My goal is to help clients build insight, develop healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
